Rail Welding - Challenges for the Future

Thursday 17 April 2008, Derby, 0930 - 1530hrs

Background

The quest for 'world class railways', both in terms of main line and urban systems, places onerous requirements on track welding. The challenges include:

  • Dealing with new rail grades, profiles and coatings.
  • Optimising welding operations to suit the new modular approach to track construction.
  • Increasing productivity in the face of reduced possession times.

It is essential to keep up to date with technical developments that help the industry to overcome the problems posed by these challenges.

About this event

In order to deal with the subject of world class railways, a world class team of speakers has been recruited to present the technical programme.

As can be seen from the details opposite, the programme covers a comprehensive and varied mix of pertinent topics.
